Lisa Sybrandt - Teacher (M, W, F 3's)
Hello! My name is Lisa Sybrandt (A.K.A Teacher Lisa). I graduated from Penn State University in 1991 with a BS degree in Human Development and Family Studies. I have been an employee of Preschool in the Valley since September 2006. Even before I was an employee, I volunteered as a “mystery reader" and school librarian.
My passion is preschoolers! I love watching the children in my three year-old classes become confident, independent and capable students. In addition to working at the Preschool, I am also a member of Great Valley Presbyterian Church. Sometimes on Sunday mornings you might see me either helping in a Sunday School classroom or singing in the church choir.
I enjoy walking through the Bible sharing true stories of Jesus’ birth as we approach Christmas, Jesus’ life with his disciples, and Jesus’ resurrection at Easter. We have fun each week finding out what is in the Love Box which helps us remember the Bible story of the week. We also enjoy reading and discovering new preschool books, putting puzzles together, learning the alphabet and the letter sounds, singing songs, building with blocks and Legos, taking walks, and playing on the playground.
The best thing about working with young children is that I get to spend my time with them! As my own three children have gotten older and moved on to college and beyond, I get to remember how precious the time spent with young children is and see the enthusiasm and amazement on their faces as they discover their world.
